2016 Sports Fan Summit to return to the MCG

Following the ongoing success of the annual Sports Fan Summit, the conference is to return to the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2016.
Marking the third time in nine years that the MCG has been selected to host the Sports Fan Summit, event owner, Simon Arkwright explains “the Melbourne Cricket Ground is a truly iconic venue.
“It’s a great fit for the Sports Fan Summit; regarded by many as the southern hemisphere’s premier sport marketing conference.
“Obviously most of the local delegates, speakers and partners are familiar with the ‘G’ but also some of the international speakers are as well.
“For example, Paul Turner from the Dallas Cowboys fondly recalls a visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground 30 years ago; as a teenager in a Marching Band.
“The focus of the Sports Fan Summit is about Best Practice; it is about bringing the world’s best sport marketers and the best ideas down to Australia.
“In 2016, George Scott, Vice President of Digital Media at the NFL is already confirmed as just one of a number of international experts who will be presenting.
“The conference is invaluable for club, league and governing body executives and senior managers looking to further their knowledge and obtain new contemporary ways of thinking on fan engagement, both now and in the future”
Running from 27th to 29th June next year, all sessions at the 2016 Sports Fan Summit will be specifically developed to enhance learning about an aspect of fan engagement and every speaker has been chosen for his or her ability to interact with the audience.
The conference format has evolved to include greater use of breakout sessions to better facilitate interaction and understanding.
Not only will this give delegates key takeaways on their subject matter but speaker insights will be made within an Australian context.
The overall theme for 2016 is Fan Engagement in the Digital Age, which, Arkwright concludes “is so appropriate given the huge extent which technology is shaping the fan experience.”
A launch price of $895 (which includes the cost of the Conference Dinner) is available until midnight, Wednesday 9th September, 2015.
