Accesso Technology announces acquisition of online waiver and risk management data technology firm 1RISK

The Accesso Technology Group, a leading technology provider for attractions around the world, has announced its acquisition of the technology assets of 1RISK, a provider of cloud-based risk management and liability waiver solutions for the leisure industry.
1RISK, currently provides "the market leading solution" for ski resorts, recreation venues and activity-based destinations across North America, including around 80 that are already accesso clients.
Highlighting that the deal extends the firm’s commitment to delivering innovative, comprehensive solutions, accesso Chief Executive Steve Brown advised in a statement, “as the leading provider of commerce solutions for ski operators across North America, further enhancing the accesso offering with 1RISK’s proven technology extends our commitment to delivering innovative, comprehensive solutions to the leisure sector.”
Charles Mickley, 1RISK founder and Chief Executive, added "as a long-standing partner of Accesso, we have seen first-hand their dedication to innovation and guest experience.
"We are excited to see the range of 1RISK technology become an integral part of accesso’s powerful ecosystem, helping operators support their overall approach to risk management.”
Founded in 2012, 1RISK’s 1Waiver app supports online waivers for tickets, rentals and lessons with its range of SaaS-based solutions growing to include risk management tools, such as incident reporting and dispatch operations tracking. With these functions, operators can use data to incrementally lower the frequency and severity of incidents.
In 2024, the platform processed over four million guest waivers across more than 160 North American venues.
This technology will now be part of accesso’s suite of offerings, and will be made available exclusively to venues using its products.
1RISK’s staff will join accesso to support continued development of the technology.
Last month, accesso announced that it has been selected as the guest experience technology provider for the Qiddiya giga-project in Saudi Arabia. The company will roll out its leading-edge ticketing and visitor management solution, accesso Horizon, across Qiddiya’s range of attractions.
