Archery Australia selects IMG Sports Technology Group as Technology Partner
April 13, 2011

IMG Sports Technology Group (IMG STG) and Archery Australia have announced a technology partnership whereby IMG STG will provide a range of technology platforms to service and enhance the sport of archery.

The agreement will see IMG STG provide Archery Australia with a range of web based technology products to service and enhance the sport of Archery in the future.

The core technology offering will be the provision of a new member database allowing the sport to better service its members and reduce volunteer administration workload by allowing members to register and pay online. In addition, the arrangement will see Archery Australia receive a new web site and online ecommerce system as used by many of Australia's largest commercial sporting entities including the AFL, NRL and NBL.

Archery Australia Chief Executive James Larven, is looking forward to the new technology raising the profile of archery throughout the country, stating "with technology always changing we felt it was important to focus on this area of the business and IMG STG has a clear track record of successfully working with National Sports Organisations. We believe these new systems will further improve the profile of archery and present opportunities for new revenue streams that will ultimately benefit all stakeholders within the sport."

IMG STG National Sales Manager, Rohan Lawton, is thrilled to welcome another National Sports Organisation to the fold, adding "our team has developed a stream of products that are easy to use, very affordable and specific to the local sporting market and it is fantastic to welcome an Olympic sport such as Archery to our client list. Our focus will now be on working closely with Archery Australia to ensure they leverage our systems to grow the sport as quickly as possible."

The roll out of the new technology will take place immediately with each platform introduced in phases with the appropriate training. IMG STG now partners with twelve National Sports Organisations across Australia and New Zealand with the likelihood of adding to this list in 2011.
Sydney-based Archery Australia is the governing body for the sport in Australia. Archery currently has 5,000 registered members with a further 8,000 members forming part of the recently established Archery Alliance, a cooperative arrangement between the three national bodies; Archery Australia, Australian Bowhunters Associations and 3D Archery Association.

It is estimated that there are over 700,000 participants in archery events and activities each year.
