Box Altitude launches affordable alternative for high performance training

Box Altitude, a specialist and manufacturer of altitude sleep systems, has launched a new, more affordable altitude training product in the Australian commercial gym market.
Rico Rogers, ex-professional cyclist and the founder of Box Altitude, used altitude training and altitude sleep systems throughout his 10 year professional racing career to enhance his performance - and achieved great results as a sprinter from doing so.
Box Altitude now have an altitude system which costs half to two-thirds of the price of what is currently on the market and entry-level altitude training package that comes in at only $320 per month (45 metre² room based on a 60-month lease).
Rogers explains “we started Box Altitude with a range of comfortable and affordable altitude sleeping tents that we design and manufacture here in Melbourne. From there we created training tents, so customers could do altitude training at home. Now we are fitting out altitude rooms in homes, gyms and offices.
“In my opinion the current return on investment model for altitude rooms is too high, and I want to make altitude rooms accessible to everyone – just like our altitude tents.”
Confident that a Box Altitude training room can provide a higher return than almost any other piece of fitness training equipment, Rogers adds “we have been called ‘a market disrupter’ which we are quite happy to be called.
“We have been fortunate to work with and supply some of the best athletes and coaches in the world. It’s gratifying to know that we can now offer these same elite training techniques to everyone - techniques based on years of sport science research and a deep understanding of the practical applications of altitude. Our diverse training regimes ensure everyone can get sustained results from training in our altitude rooms.”
Rogers highlights the benefits of offering an altitude room in your gym or studio as having the potential to attract new clients, retain and engage existing members, enhance the exercise experience, accelerate training outcomes and create new revenue streams.
He is confident that Box Altitude has the scientific, engineering and design capability to develop and deliver an appropriate altitude training or sleep solution, advising “I would love to see Box Altitude Spin classes dotted nationwide.
“Altitude Spin classes would be a great way to get the best physiological results for gym and studio members.”
Box also introduced a new altitude training app at last week’s Australian Sports Technology Week in Melbourne.
