Competing conferences focus on sport marketing
April 7, 2017

With ever growing interest in the business of sport among Australia’s major industries, two competing sport marketing conferences are set to be staged in Sydney in the middle of the year.

To be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday 21st June, the Mumbrella Sports Marketing Summit is aimed at informing practitioners in the media and marketing communities of the potential of the sporting market.

Launched in December 2008, Mumbrella is a dedicated news, opinion and discussion website covering Australia’s media and marketing industry.

In addition to this third staging of the Mumbrella Sports Marketing Summit, it also hosts Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit, the Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Summit and Mumbrella’s CommsCon.

Last year, more than 350 delegates heard from over 60 top speakers at this event.

Less than a month later, Ministry of Sports Marketing conference will be staged at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 18th July.

Following the success of the inaugural Ministry of Sports Marketing conference in 2016, the 2017 conference will focus on social/digital media and how they are transforming the business of sport.

A statement promoting the conference explains "aiming to be different from other industry conferences, the event will feature global thought leaders representing the world’s biggest codes and will present commercially focused case studies and content."

Both events also include industry awards.

Information on both events can be found in the Australasian Leisure Management industry Calendar.
