Conference to explore technology opportunities in global sport technology

A trio of leading industry organisations are joining together to present The Next Steps to Global Sports Innovation Conference, with the aim of backing Australian developed sports technologies and sports manufacturers into the $600 billion global sports market.
Australian Sports Technology Network (ASTN), the Australian Sporting Goods Association (ASGA) and the Manufacturing Excellence Taskforce Australia (META) have combined to present the Conference, which will be held at Melbourne’s Flemington Race Course on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October 2014.
Over the last two years, the ASTN’s annual conference and sports innovation workshop has brought together over 400 delegates from across Australia.
This year, participants will include representatives from network partners, leading researchers, over 16 universities, NSOs and the Australian Institute of Sport - coming together at one of the most exciting and interactive gatherings of innovators and sports technology industry leaders ever held in Australia.
The two day program will feature a range of Australian and international thinkers and innovators from the sports tech and advanced manufacturing industries.
Along with Industry reviews and previews – across researchers, NSOs, sports medical, sports retail and sports manufacturing the conference will feature two of the world’s most innovative thinkers in our modern era - Professor Jerry Engel and Steve Blank.
In its third year, the conference has successfully generated great momentum for the sports technology sector, attracting strong media attention nationally and globally.
