Details released for 2011 Sport is Fantastic conference
December 15, 2010

The date and location for the industry-leading 2011 Sport is Fantastic conference have been announced.

Conference organiser, Simon Arkwright said that the conference would be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 12th and 13th July 2011.

Arkwright confirmed that some of the worldâs best digital sport marketers will be travelling to Australia to address the conference, advising that the following senior executives from global sporting brands will be speaking at the conference:

• Matt Higgins, Executive Vice President â Business Operations, New York Jets
• Matt Owen, Manager - Online Communities, Liverpool FC
• Russ Stanley, Managing Vice President, Ticket Sales & Services, San Francisco Giants
• Andrew Pawlowski, Global Digital Lead â Basketball, Nike Corporate
• Simon Collinson, Marketing Director, Wigan Rugby League
• Peter Stringer, Manager - Interactive Media, Boston Celtics
• Jason Yeh, Director of New Media, Major League Baseball
• John McCauley, Director of Digital, Toronto Maple Leafs
• Shane Harmon, GM - Marketing & Communications, Rugby World Cup organising committee.

Arkwright said that the 2011 conference builds on the superb platform established by this yearâs conference, explaining that âour 2010 conference was a watershed event for many Australian professional sport organisations (making) delegates aware of the opportunities for their organisation offered by digital and social media.

"The 2011 conference progresses on from 2010 and will provide those attending with road maps of how to take advantage of those opportunities."

Arkwright added that the 2011 conference program not only covers social and digital media but also considers digital aspects of stadium operations, ticketing, membership and sponsorship and also explores how to grow fan and participation numbers.

Arkwright mentioned that a wide range of âplatformsâ (such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube video, mobile and online communities) will be discussed at the 2011 conference.

Arkwright believes that "a problem with many conferences is that delegates struggle to have any personal contact with conference key note speakers."

That problem will be solved at the 2011 Sport is Fantastic conference through the inclusion of a pre-conference Afternoon Masterclass on Monday 11th July.

Numbers for the Masterclass will be capped and all those attending will have the opportunity to have in-depth conversations with one or more of the conferenceâs international speakers.

Delegates registering for the 2011 Sport is Fantastic conference before 8th April 2011 need only pay $975 for their attendance with those registering before Christmas not only get access to the $975 rate but also receiving complimentary entry into the pre-conference Afternoon Masterclass.

Arkwright added that those registering before Christmas also have the opportunity to book a private 60-minute meeting with one of the International key note speakers.
