EventFinda/ EventFinder expands in Australia and USA

Having become New Zealand's largest events guide and, since 2009, New Zealand's fastest growing ticketing company, Auckland-based technology company Eventfinda (known as EventFinder in Australia) is rolling out its listing, event discovery, marketing and ticketing platform in Australia, the USA and Singapore.
Having published information on 200,000 events and selling $10 million in tickets sold, Eventfinda is exporting what it call its "Kiwi sense of fun" to new territories.
With over 415,000 users using Eventfinder every month in Australia to decide what do to, where to go and how to buy tickets, the website has listed 45,000 events in Australia this year more than any other website
Eventfinder has also added over 50,000 new unique visitors each month since its launch in January this year, making it Australia's fastest growing online guide to events and entertainment. In terms of traffic, in it first ten months Eventfinder has grown to become the second largest entertainment guide in Australia after Time Out.
Eventfinder covers all types of events from music and performing arts, to exhibitions, cultural festivals, expos and sports; and all size of events from national rock tours in major stadiums, to growers' markets in country towns. It offers an absolutely free listing and promotion service to event and venue operators across Australia.
Those looking to bring further attention to their events are able to select from a range of placements. Event promoters can promote their listing across the homepage and search listings to generate more attention and traffic driven directly to their ticketing vendor of choice (including Eventfinder's own ticketing platform).
Since 2006, Eventfinda has been mastering event discovery for consumers, making it fun and engaging, while making it easy for event marketers and promoters to connect with their audience. Seamless ticketing also helps make organizing the events easier for all parties while adding another revenue stream.
Explaining EventFindas expansion in the USA, founder Michael Turner explains "we realised that while we are very good at what we do there are other opportunities for growth.
"The USA has been on our list for some time so we (began) operating on the west coast."
From the west coast, the company has aggressive growth plans in place for the rest of the USA.
In New Zealand, Eventfinda Pro, which allows event promoters, venues and artists to list their own events for free, has been so successful that 100% of the event content in New Zealand is user generated. Adding ticketing became the next step as events grew larger in size and the demand for ticketing increased.
Turner adds "what's interesting is that we are taking a Kiwi style way of fun and business and bringing that to other places. While there are some things that are different based upon cities, having fun and getting people into events is not one of them."
