Grant for floodlights at North Hobart Oval

A $500,000 grant from the Tasmanian Government will provide for an exciting new era for the historic North Hobart Oval.
Announcing the funding, Tasmanian Minister for Tourism Scott Bacon said that the grant has allowed for the Hobart City Council to upgrade the power supply and install new lights at the oval.
Minister Bacon stated "the lighting upgrades will provide significant benefits to the North Hobart Football Club, its members and supporters and will enable the North Hobart Football Club to host a number of twilight/night matches during the football season.
"North Hobart Oval holds a special place in Tasmania's football heritage, and this new lighting opens an exciting new chapter for the ground."
The new lighting includes four 27-metre light towers, which are able to provide up to 200 lux illumination, the minimum required for night football matches.
