GymAware named as ACT Exporter of the Year

Canberra-based business, Kinetic Performance Technology (GymAware) has been named as the 2023 ACT Exporter of the Year.

The company’s products, GymAware RS and FLEX, are designed to help coaches and athletes of all levels measure and track strength training activities in the weight room. Its technology has been a crucial component of weight training for professional athletes across various sporting disciplines, helping hundreds of teams and individuals prepare for their career-defining moments on the field.

GymAware is the global leader of velocity-based training solutions with a staggering 89% of its sales being exports - 80% of these to the USA, 10% to the United Kingdom and 6% to France and China. The company also won the Advanced Technologies award.

The company’s systems are used in weight rooms across 65% of all professional sporting teams in the USA, all teams in elite Australian leagues like the NRL and Super Rugby, as well as esteemed international teams, such as the New Zealand All Blacks.

Evan Lawton and his team at GymAware 20 years have been delivering world leading sport technology for over 20 years and are still at the top of their game.

In being named the 2023 ACT Exporter of the Year, GymAware has taken home a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, with this year’s trophy designed by local glass artist Annette Blair. It is the first time this prestigious trophy has been designed as a unique piece.
