iEDM appointed to deliver the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

Australian Grand Prix Corporation has announced iEDM as the engineering Project Managers for the 2022 to 2024 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix.
In partnership with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC), iEDM will provide specialist integrated overlay design, engineering, project management and construction management services to deliver all circuit and temporary infrastructure required for the Event.
For Chairman John Howe, the agreement is a humbling reflection of iEDM’s strong performance and the trust developed between the two organisations.
Howe notes “our team has been working closely with the AGPC since late 2019 to deliver around $20 million of permanent upgrades to the Albert Park Circuit. It is a real endorsement of our people and processes, that based on our performance on that project and the relationship we have built with the AGPC, we have been trusted to deliver this world-class event for the next five years.
Howe added “following a difficult 12 months in the events and sport sector, our Melbourne office is now buzzing with excitement and positivity. The relationship our teams have at an operational level is one of the best I have seen in 40 years of business.”
The scope of works for the contract includes principal contractor services of all temporary infrastructure including the circuit, grandstands, corporate facilities, operations facilities, fit out, electrical and communications, plumbing, signage, pedestrian bridges and super screens.
Annually, iEDM design and deliver over $60 million of temporary infrastructure for major events around Australia.

The contract award represents strong growth and unlocks future opportunities for iEDM in Melbourne.
iEDM Director of Motorsport and Melbourne-based Mark Skaife is pleased to see the efforts on the strategy is achieving results and adds “we only started the iEDM office in Melbourne a few years ago and to achieve the success of being awarded the EPMS contract for the FORMULA 1 ™ Australian Grand Prix in that time is a fantastic accomplishment for the team.”
iEDM has over 40 staff across three offices, supporting the delivery of projects throughout the east coast of Australia and across to Adelaide. The team includes engineers, designers, project managers, experts in cost, sustainability and risk management, construction managers, WHS professionals and site managers to enable iEDM to provide a truly integrated service offering to their clients.
The iEDM team is focussed and committed to the delivery of the permanent and temporary infrastructure for sports and major events, supporting clients such as the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Supercars Australia, Tennis Australia and the South Australian Tourism Commission.
