International sports flooring expert to address 2017 SAPIA National Conference

Fabio D’Amato, Sport Facilities Product Manager for international sport products specialist Mapei SpA has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Sports and Play Industry Association 2017 National Conference.
D’Amato will address the conference, being held on the Gold Coast on 31st August and 1st September, on the subject of ‘acrylic and polyurethane sport systems for indoor and outdoor sports flooring’.
With performance and comfort properties required for playing surfaces having to cope with all kinds of weather conditions, the current global market s asking for technical solutions not only for new projects, but also for renovations of existing sports facilities without removing the old flooring.
D’Amato will explain how Mapei research has developed innovative solutions with acrylic and polyurethane systems to give a second life to older indoor and outdoor facilities.
These technical solutions have been developed in Mapei’s Italian-based research and development laboratory specifically for the sports facilities sector and are based on the technical specifications given by the most influential and most stringent sports federations in the world including the International Tennis Federation, basketball’s world governing body FIBA and athletics’ world governing body the IAAF.
These solutions involve indoor and outdoor sports floorings on concrete or asphalt substrates for all types of applications such as indoor gyms, indoor and outdoor multisport courts and tennis courts, with advantages including:
