Money In Sport and Australian PGA Championship to collaborate in 2018

Money In Sport and Australian PGA Championship to collaborate in 2018
June 6, 2018

The Money In Sport Conference is to partner with the Australian PGA Championship with the two major sporting events to be hosted on the Gold Coast this November and December.

The leading sports business conference, which unites industry leaders and decision makers is being held at The Star from 28th to 30th November, the week preceding the Australian PGA Championship.

A European Tour and ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia co-sanctioned tournament, the Australian PGA Championship is being played at RACV Royal Pines Resort from 29th November to 2nd December and regularly attracts Australian and international golfing stars to the Gold Coast.

The new partnership will enable Money In Sport executives, special guests and delegates to attend a number of events at the Australian PGA Championship and will have access to corporate hospitality and tournament experience packages.

Lou Sticca, Managing Director of Money In Sport Pty Ltd explains “I am very proud to announce our collaboration with the Australian PGA Championship.

“Working with the team at the PGA of Australia, we will look to maximise benefits for sponsors, golfers, officials and fans of golf and the PGA by inviting them to participate at Money In Sport 2018.

“At the same time, Money In Sport will promote the Australian PGA Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort to our international guests, speakers, delegates and sponsors to ensure they stay on in the Gold Coast to enable them to attend the final two rounds of this year’s tournament on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December.”

The Money In Sport Conference this year will focus on innovation in sport. Since its move to the Gold Coast, the Australian PGA Championship has adopted an innovative philosophy which has lead to the successful creation of the SONIQ Million Dollar Hole, Greg Norman Medal, MyGolf Kids Day and live music.

David Pryles, Commercial Director - Australasia for the PGA of Australia and European Tour, advised “since it’s move to the Gold Coast, the Australian PGA Championship has grown to be one of the most successful golf tournaments in Australia which provides significant value to the state of Queensland through inbound interstate and international visitation as well as a huge global media value through the broadcast.

“The success of the Australian PGA Championship has grown from our team’s philosophy to innovate the golf spectators experience at our tournament and think outside the boundaries of tradition which some people perceive the sport of golf to be hemmed by.”

Golf is a global business; the Australian PGA Championship thanks to its co-sanctioning with the European Tour and ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia attracts an international playing field and audience.

Pryles added “golf is a global sport which attracts large sponsorship dollars and revenue for its various stakeholders which makes the alliance with the Money in Sport conference the perfect fit.

“It also makes the Australian PGA Championship the perfect destination for post-conference celebrations, allowing delegates, guest speakers and VIP’s the opportunity to watch world class golf whilst also networking following the Money In Sport Conference.”

Tourism and Events Queensland, brokered the collaboration between the Money in Sport Conference and the Australian PGA Championships with the aim of broadening their appeal and attendance.
