Myzone launches its first Olympics-themed challenge

Myzone launches its first Olympics-themed challenge
July 19, 2024

One week ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, fitness technology leader Myzone has launched its first global challenge embracing the Olympic spirit and aimed at inspiring fitness club members around the world to reach new heights of achievement.

The MEPs to Medals Challenge leverages the enthusiasm surrounding the world’s biggest sports event to foster community, diversity and inclusivity and to celebrate effort among gym-goers of all levels. From absolute beginners to seasoned fitness enthusiasts, participants will be able to move any way they choose – whether that’s on the gym floor, in the pool or on the volleyball court – with Myzone’s heart rate technology accurately tracking their every move.

Dave Benham, owner of the Core 300 clubs in the UK notes “Myzone challenges always create a buzz in our clubs. They’re a fantastic way to bring our clients together, boost attendance and strengthen connections. We all love to test our physical capabilities and both Myzone and the Myzone challenges give us that extra edge to see just how far as a team we can go.”

Running from Friday 26th July to Sunday 8th September, the challenge coincides with the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. It encourages participants to accumulate Myzone Effort Points (MEPs), fostering camaraderie through team effort and rewarding standout performances with podium spots for achievements like the highest average MEPs.

International athlete Danielle Jordan-Taft (pictured above), a rugby 7s & 15s player for Jamaica and a high performance netball player, has used Myzone for 12 years and never trains without it.

Jordan-Taft shares “Myzone challenges are brilliant. They keep me motivated even on days when I don’t feel like training, and they’re great conservation starters with other gym-goers. I’ve met lots of new people through these challenges who I wouldn’t have come across otherwise. I’ve taken part with my family, friends and fellow athletes. My family and friends really enjoy being able to compete with me on a level playing field – my sister loves the fact that I have to do two workouts to earn the same number of MEPs that she earns in one.”

Ben Hitchcock, Chief Marketing Officer at Myzone adds “Myzone is committed to empowering fitness communities globally. Our MEPs to Medals Challenge embodies the spirt of the Games by celebrating the myriad of ways people can achieve glory through exercise, while reinforcing the importance of community, teamwork and effort. We want to light the flame of enthusiasm and support clubs across the world to encourage their communities to embark on a challenge of Olympic proportions.”

To help fitness club operators maximise engagement, Myzone has created a comprehensive suite of promotional materials, including posters, live board designs, social media content and community guidelines.
