Netball Australia launches streaming platform for international fans
March 21, 2022

Netball Australia has launched a new subscription streaming service to provide fans around the world with coverage of its Super Netball club competition.

Powered by Cluch, the Australia-based OTT sports streaming platform, NetballAustralia.TV will serve as the official international subscription service for fans outside of Australia and New Zealand.

The new platform is in addition to Netball Australia’s new five-year broadcast rights deal with Foxtel and Kayo, which started this season. The deal grants the pay television operator rights to every Super Netball match with coverage on Foxtel’s linear television platforms and via its Kayo Sports streaming service.

Foxtel replaced commercial broadcaster Nine and Telstra in the role of Netball Australia’s premier rights-holder.

In announcing the launch of NetballAustralia.TV, the governing body said a broadcast announcement for New Zealand will be made in the coming days.

Unveiling the new platform, Netball Australia Chief Executive, Kelly Ryan advised “our international fans are incredibly important to us and ensuring you are able to watch your favourite teams and players is crucial to growth of our competition.

“If more elite content is accessible to fans, be it on TV or through their mobile device, we’re helping tap into new audiences to attract them to the sport. This new platform allows viewers to watch Suncorp Super Netball from anywhere at any time, and we thank our overseas fans for their patience and importantly, their passion for our sport.”

Aiming to “provide unparalleled opportunities for all clubs and their communities” and “provide greater exposure to community sport that will showcase the talent and passion at the local level”, Cluch works with various national and local sports bodies in Australia.

The 2022 Super Netball season begins on Saturday, headlined by a grand final re-match between the reigning premiers NSW Swifts and Giants Netball.

The PacificAus Sports Netball Series, which began today will also be streamed live and on-demand to Australian and international audiences via NetballAustralia.TV.

The new service offer two subscription packages will be offered for the 2022 Super Netball season, at $29.99 for the entire competition or $2.49 for a weekly subscription.
