New generation line marker guided by satellite technology
January 19, 2016

Line marking specialists FountainLine has launched Australia's first satellite guided Line Marking machine - the SmartLine GPS Line Marker.

The SmartLine GPS model brings high technology accuracy, application and an easy-to-follow LCD display, combined with FountainLine’s top-of-the-range line marking machines to deliver sports field line-marking with pin-point accuracy.

With hundreds of sports field templates to choose from, users can lay out markings with pinpoint accuracy and next minimal set-up time guided by a choice of hundreds of sports field templates for range of football, rugby league, rugby uinion, AFL and hockey, scalable for each ground.

The defence-grade satellite-guided SmartLine GPS technology reduces time spent on-field by up to 90% saving hours of set out time for each field marked.

Introducing the innovation, FountainLine Chief Executive Terry Ibrahim explains “all you do is select a sports field layout from the range of templates, take the SmartLine line marker to a start point in your field, set up the GPS tripod for orientation, and off you go.

"The display guides you every step of the way, and an alert tells you if you're approaching an intersection or endpoint."

At a recent demonstration, a FountainLine distributor - using a SmartLine GPS line marker for the first time - marked a perfect 18 metre-diameter circle on a football field in seconds - including the set out.

With no need for tapes, pegs or strings - or a second greenkeeper - the average time taken to set out a sports field is reduced by around 98%.

The machine also has an in-built locator and direction finder to knows precisely which field it is on and where to start from.
