PlayHQ announces new partnership with New Zealand Cricket

PlayHQ - one of one of Australia’s fastest-growing sports tech startups – has partnered with New Zealand Cricket.
The move follows a successful partnership between PlayHQ and Cricket Australia, and sees NZC join a raft of major sports across Australia and New Zealand who have turned to PlayHQ to streamline their community competition and program management.
PlayHQ is a modern turnkey software platform providing a suite of user-friendly tools for registration, instant payments, fixturing, grading, game day management, live scoring and more. Users from the NZC community will join over 22,000 administrators and over two million registered users in Cricket, Netball, Basketball, AFL and Hockey competitions on the platform.
NZC Head of Community Cricket, Kent Stead, said the PlayHQ system was a standout solution, with significant focus on building features that specifically enable the sport of cricket.
Stead notes “It will support delivery of our key strategic imperatives including creating a cohesive, connected and effective Cricket Network; building engagement of our local and global fan base, and driving greater inclusivity by bringing more women and girls to cricket.
“New Zealand Cricket is excited, and looking forward to working with PlayHQ in delivering game-changing digital transformation within our community over the coming months.”
PlayHQ Chief Executive Sam Walch is thrilled to be working in partnership with NZC to deliver an immediate uplift in core digital experiences and enthused “PlayHQ's mission is to unleash the life-changing power of sport, and we work to contribute meaningfully to the lives of administrators, participants and parents within all our partner sports. Cricket in Australia is a foundational partner we have worked closely with over the last 24 months, and we are delighted to welcome the New Zealand Cricket community into the fold.”
This latest partnership follows the onboarding of Hockey New Zealand earlier this year and cements PlayHQ’s international appeal. Walch added “we developed our world-class platform specifically for scale, so to be supporting grassroots sport in New Zealand for Hockey and now Cricket is an important milestone in PlayHQ’s journey.”
To support the phased transition and implementation of the new system, NZC will work collaboratively with PlayHQ to roll out targeted online training for member clubs, and provide ongoing platform support for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.
