PMY Group unveils new management team
June 22, 2016

The PMY Group has unveiled a new management team that is looking to drive its growth in Australia and overseas, backed by market leading intellectual property.

With global stadium and events expert and former Etihad Stadium Chief Executive Paul Sergeant having joined in May this year, PMY has grown to employ more than 30 staff and a number of expert consultants across Australia and now has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra as well as a growing presence in the Gold Coast, Perth and New Zealand.

With its international expansion underway, the management team has been assembled to encompass technical experts, commercial strategists, and experienced senior executives from a broad range of industries including sports marketing, venue management, infrastructure, information and communications technology, advisory and sports administration.

Led by Paul Yeomans as Managing Director, the executive team comprises Piers Thompson as Chief Operating Officer, Josh Philpot as Head of Commercial, John de Carvalho as Head of Digital & Technology, Aimee King as Head of Advisory, Darren Collopy as Head of ICT and Millie Lacey as Corporate Counsel.

Also joining this impressive line-up (and of particular interest to the stadium and venues market) are industry specialists Neale Guthrie, former General Manager of ACT Venue and Event Services and Steve Frost, former Head of ICT at the Adelaide Oval, who both bring marked practical experience and relationships to the team.

Commenting on joining the PMY Group team, Guthrie stated “developments in technology are changing the fan experiences at stadiums and venues like never before.”

“Stadiums are needing to innovate to continue to be relevant and I look forward to being part of the team at PMY to help venues navigate, develop and implement new initiatives in this space.”

Piers Thompson, Chief Operating Officer PMY, has managed large scale projects across many industries for over 15 years. Prior to joining PMY, he was General Manager at the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust where he was responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Trust’s Master Plan and broader ICT strategy.

Thompson’s work on the newly developed Noble, Bradman, and Messenger Stands was recognised with a Project of the Year award at the 2015 Stadium Business Awards in Barcelona. Looking forward to the group’s growth, Thompson states “there are exciting times ahead for PMY and as a team we look forward to solidifying our credentials as leaders in the highly complex space of smart venue technology as well as developing new global markets and service offerings.”
