Polytan to present Concept to Creation – Sports Field Symposium

Polytan to present Concept to Creation – Sports Field Symposium
February 1, 2017

Leading synthetic sports surfaces provider Polytan is continuing to roll-out a series of events designed to support the development of local sporting facilities in Australia.

Polytan’s ‘Concept to Creation - Sports Field Symposium’ provides an opportunity for local government, educational establishments, sports associations, clubs and venues to listen to recent case studies, skilled project managers and facility operators.

Having staged its first event in Perth in October last year, Polytan's next event is being held at UQ Sport at The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus on 23rd February - where Polytan last year completed the installation of two full size artificial turf football/hockey fields above a new 500-bay car park (the UQ Sport Synthetic Sport Precinct).

With almost 30 years of industry experience, established on a strong foundation of knowledge sharing, strong project management, research and innovative development, the Symposium is part of a Polytan initiative to further support the successful planning and construction of regional facilities.

The Symposium will see experienced speakers will share their thoughts and provide a range of presentations, aimed at identifying critical and worthwhile considerations, for potential synthetic sports facility builders.

Polytan General Manager Paul Kamphuis explains “as industry leaders, it is our responsibility to share our collective experience and to help drive forward accessible sporting facilities for regional communities.

“After all, it is these facilities where dreams are created and our countries elite athletes start.”

Feedback will be provided to symposium participants on how to make educated decisions from the initial planning through the design and construction of sporting and recreational facilities.  Additionally, successful concepts will be openly discussed and balanced, with optional inclusions to maximise longevity to help you get the most out of a synthetic sporting facility.

An intriguing range of topics including facility design trends, approximate project costs, surfacing systems, maintenance, venue development and planning for the future will be discussed.

Polytan National Sales Manager Rob Kirkwood adds “we believe participants will walk away with a comprehensive understanding of the best practice to drive their vision into a successful reality.”

Beyond this next event at UQ Sport, Polytan’s ‘Concept to Creation Sports Field Symposium’ will be delivered in various cities across Australia, striving to share valuable knowledge and experience for the benefit of our local communities.

With strategic locations throughout Australia, across Asia and New Zealand, Polytan has participated in a range of exciting and challenging sporting construction projects.

Polytan’s impressive repertoire of facilities spans from Olympic and Commonwealth Games venues, through to regional facilities for sporting associations and universities, along with numerous state and local government departments, who strive to deliver sport and recreation facilities within their local communities.

The Symposium is free to attend.

Polytan is also the Platinum Sponsor of the National Sports Convention, being held in Melbourne from 19th to 21st July.
