Sportsground.co.nz partners with Debitsuccess to provide new online payment solution for New Zealand
September 6, 2013

Sportsground.co.nz, the largest single provider of websites for New Zealand sports clubs and associations, is to partner with billing solutions company Debitsuccess to deliver an imaginative way for sports and school clubs to accept payments online.

Called Sport$pay, the new service enables people to pay for subs, membership fees and other items not only by credit card but also by direct debit online. Each online payment is automatically recorded in a cloud based member manager solution provided by Sportsground, making accounting and reconciliation quick and easy, with one-click exporting to Excel.

Sportsground Chief Executive Mike Purchas says the exclusive partnership with Debitsuccess caters for the large number of people who don't have a credit card and were previously unable to pay online.

Purchas explains "Sport$pay makes it safe and easy for clubs and schools to accept payments online, because shifting away from paper forms improves accuracy as well as data security.

"Debitsuccess operates a fully traceable cash flow system with the highest level of PCI DSS* compliance available in the world today. This solution avoids the need for clubs to undertake the risky and time consuming administration of handling cash or cheques, as Debitsuccess remits funds directly to the club's bank account."

Although Sportsground provides thousands of free sports websites across New Zealand, Sport$pay is also available for clubs and schools even if their website is hosted elsewhere.

Purchas says the partnership with Debitsuccess on Sport$pay is a great step forward for Kiwi sport, adding "ultimately, it's about making administration quick and easy, so organisers and volunteers can spend less time book-keeping and focus more time on the actual sport."

Sportsground has already been engaged by a number of sports codes including New Zealand Rugby Union to provide online registrations for players. The solution includes a web form builder that lets clubs control which fields of data they collect, as well as a free e-Newsletter module that enables clubs to send bulk emails to members and stakeholders.
