St Kilda leads AFL clubs with mobile ticketing innovation

AFL club St. Kilda has signed a deal with technology firm Experience to facilitate a move to mobile ticketing.
Experience will allow fans to both purchase tickets to games, as well as scan into their home games at the Etihad Stadium via their mobile device.
St Kilda’s Attendance and Engagement Manager, Eranna Weisenberger, said Saints fans could enjoy a more seamless and stress-free ticketing experience on match days by using the new technology, advising “it’s a straightforward and simple process.
“We’re hoping to see more people purchasing tickets on their mobile devices, with the possibility of eventually integrating this into membership products in the future.”
Advising that St Kilda would be the first club in the AFL to use the technology, Weisenberger added “it’s the very first time this technology has been used for retail ticketing in Australia, so it’s a first for the AFL.
“This is a really exciting step for ticketing, not only for the club and our fans, but for the AFL, Etihad Stadium and other tenant clubs, too.”
