Strategic partnership announced for West Coast Eagles and Playbk Sports to elevate online fan experience
The AFL’s Perth-based West Coast Eagles has entered into a strategic partnership with Playbk Sports to connect with fans across the Western Australian community and to growing the game and create opportunities for athletes and students across the state through education and physical activity.
This partnership is especially significant for remote communities, where access to high-quality sports education and training is limited.
Playbk Sports is a leading provider of bespoke eLearning and fitness technology solutions. Utilising tailored online programs to promote education and physical activity initiatives, the collaboration between West Coast Eagles and Playbk Sports will ensure a stronger sense of belonging with fans and athletes, no matter their location.
Eagles Active, the club’s Learning Management System, will be at the heart of this innovation, serving as the home for all eLearning and online fitness products.
Through Eagles Active, participants will have access to expertly designed content, whether they are teachers, students or young athletes working on their fitness and skills.
Don Pyke, West Coast Eagles Chief Executive noted "this partnership with Playbk Sports allows us to expand our reach into remote communities and further strengthen our connection with fans and athletes.
"Combining our football and community expertise with Playbk’s specialised approach to sport and education will inspire the next generation of Eagles throughout Western Australia."
The partnership will initially focus on helping the Eagles expand their relationships with teachers and schools across the state.
The initiative will provide schools with eLearning resources designed to engage students through sport, using insights and expertise from a range of Eagles’ staff to support learning and personal development.
The Eagles will also introduce comprehensive online fitness training for academy players and junior footballers.
This program will deliver expert-designed workouts through Eagles Active, acting as a ‘coach in the pocket’ for aspiring athletes - whether in urban centres or remote regions - helping them develop their skills and fitness.
Jon Shepherd, Playbk Sports Chief Executive enthused "we’re thrilled to partner with the West Coast Eagles, a club that shares our commitment to growing the game and creating opportunities for athletes and students across the state through education and physical activity.
“Our approach ensures that the Eagles' unique voice, brand and expertise are front and centre, providing value to every participant."
Richard O’Connell, General Manager of Community and Game Development at the West Coast Eagles, emphasised the broader impact of the partnership adding “this collaboration is vital to our efforts to grow the game across Western Australia.
“By extending and innovating our community programs with the expertise of Playbk Sports and centralising resources on Eagles Active, we’re able to engage more players and fans, ensuring football thrives in every corner of the state."
Playbk Sports’ tailored programs will break down geographic barriers, ensuring young athletes and fans can connect with the Eagles, feel supported and continue their development.
Through this partnership, the West Coast Eagles will create new opportunities for fan interaction, offer exclusive content for different age groups and provide a more enriching experience for all supporters.
Pyke added "this isn’t just about programs or resources - it’s about building a stronger Eagles community, bringing people together and making a lasting impact.”
