Valo Motion combines basketball and trampolining in new game
Valo Motion, the pioneer in developing active mixed-reality attractions has added a new game which combines the excitement of basketball with trampoline action - offering an immersive experience for players and new opportunities for leisure operators.
The Finnish developer's' Dunk It!, its latest mixed-reality game for their award-winning jumping attraction ValoJump, is a basketball-themed sports game transforms players into “slam-dunking superstars”, creating an immersive experience for both children and young adults alike.

This marks the 10th game in our ValoJump game library and further future-proofs operators' investment in ValoJump and its service package. They can now offer their guests an engaging new experience that compels them to come back and play more.”
Innovative gameplay meets cutting-edge technology
Dunk It! uses ValoJump's advanced motion-tracking technology to turn player movements into in-game actions. Players jump on trampolines (or air tracks) and use their hands to catch and dunk virtual basketballs into moving hoops.
The game recognises various dunk styles, including slam dunks, alley-oops, and two-handed dunks, encouraging players to experiment with different techniques. Special modes like Sticky Feet and Airdrop add variety to the gameplay, keeping it fresh and exciting.
For indoor entertainment venue operators, Dunk It! offers several benefits:
- While the game is particularly exciting for 8-12-year-olds, it successfully attracts basketball fans of all ages.
- Each game session lasts up to 120 seconds, with a 90-second Rush Hour mode on ValoJump available for busy periods, that helps operators increase throughput at their venue.
- The two-player mode on separate ValoJump units allows for competitions and events, adding social interaction as well as engagement to the whole experience.
- The game requires no additional staff training or hardware updates, ensuring a seamless implementation process.
- Dunk It!’s launch, following the Paris Summer Olympics 2024, allows venues to capitalise on the heightened interest in sports and keep the athleticism going at their venues.
This release also brings technological improvements to the ValoJump attraction. These include faster tracker data acquisition for smoother gameplay, improved multiplayer synchronisation, and updated colour space for more realistic lighting and visuals.
Immersive fun for basketball fans of all ages
Dunk It! combines physical activity with interactive entertainment, allowing players to live out their basketball fantasies. While playing they can perform spectacular dunks that would be impossible in real life.
The scoring system encourages players to try different techniques, with special rewards for impressive moves like alley-oops or multi-ball dunks. This variety not only adds to the fun but also increases replay value. Players can strive to beat their high scores, compete with friends, or invent their own freestyle dunk moves, adding a creative self-expression element to the game.
The 'Chill Vibes' level creates a relaxed, beachside basketball court atmosphere designed to appeal to a wide range of players. This unique environment, paired with the thrill of dunking, delivers a memorable experience that stands out among trampoline-based attractions.

To date, ValoJump has established a significant presence in the LBE industry, with more than 800 units installed in over 500 indoor entertainment venues across 50+ countries. The addition of Dunk It! to the game library further enhances the attraction’s value for operators worldwide, expanding the appeal of ValoJump to new audiences.

Editor's note: Dunk It! appears reminiscent of Bounceball, a basketball/trampoline game pioneered by Hawthorn VFL legend and fitness pioneer Brendan Edwards in the 1960s. Edwards passed away in 2021.
