VIPeople to help NRL convert fans into members

VIPeople to help NRL convert fans into members
February 16, 2012

With the start of the 2012 season approaching, VIPeople has teamed up with the National Rugby League membership department to become their official data collection agency.

The link will see VIPeople combine their customer service staff with utilisation of the latest iPad technology in supplying a detailed database of prospective members for the NRL clubs. NRL Membership Manager Peter Semos explains "the competition to expand membership has highlighted the need to focus on regular NRL spectators who have not yet become members.

"Our clubs are looking to develop an effective base from which to target prospective members (and) VIPeople is looking to maintain a very high ratio of usable data by training their customer service staff into these roles, enhancing the customer experience without imposing a traditional 'survey style' upon the spectators at NRL events."

The data collection team at VIPeople has been able to design a cost-effective platform, customising survey tools to specifically meet the needs of the NRL.

The iPad App can be modified to suit the needs of the code or individual clubs and could be used in any similar environment.

This customisation of the survey process has been the key to the increased quality and quantity of data available to the NRL.

As VIPeople Managing Director Anthony Duffy states "the flexibility of the application provides our clients with the targeted and useful data that is so important to their continued growth and membership programs.

"The fact that we are engaging staff who are specifically trained in customer service and knowledgeable of the venues means they can interact with patrons and answer their questions accurately.

"As a result, the opportunity to extract the necessary information for our clients is enhanced."

VIPeople's experience suggests that the use of technology creates greater spectator interest and willingness to participate, allowing staff more extensive access to patrons across all venues. It also means that the data collected is accurate and of a far higher quality than more traditional survey styles.
