Westpac Stadium introduces new SkiData access control management system
November 12, 2012

Westpac Stadium in Wellington has introduced a SkiData access control management system to replace the 12-year old system that has been in place since shortly after the Stadium's opening.

Announcing the installation, a statement from SkiData read "owning one of the most prominent venues in New Zealand, it is important to have a proven major events solution, but also one that seamlessly integrates into the overall venue environment and works with the stadium's existing ticketing provider.

"SkiData has been selected to supply its handshake.logic software in combination with SkiData's turnstiles and handheld units. Operational performance is important to the Wellington Regional Stadium Trust (WRST), that's where SkiData's software features show their strengths. 'Pre-Event Ticket Check' and the central control 'Monitor' take operations planning to the next level. Important to WRST's decision was the long-term flexibility of handshake.logic to support future technologies and multiple ticketing systems.

"A strong brand is key, WRST utilises the full color QVGA display of the SkiData Vario.Gate to display the stadium and event's custom greeting right at the entry gates. By using SkiData's turnstiles with its unique features, access to the stadium has become quicker and more convenient than ever before."

The installation at Westpac Stadium marks the first installation of SkiData's stadium access control solutions in Australia and New Zealand since entering the local market earlier this year.

Backed by a strong sales and service network in the region, the Westpac Stadium installation will enable SkiData to display its globally proven capabilities.
