Aventuur and RCVRI partner to launch recovery and wellness centre at Perth Surf Park
November 22, 2024

Aventuur, a global creator of surf and wellbeing destinations has partnered with RCVRI, Australia’s leading recovery destination, to deliver a premium recovery and wellness destination at the highly anticipated Perth Surf Park in Western Australia.

The partnership aims deliver an unmatched wellness experience for all visitors, whether they ride waves or simply prioritise their health and wellbeing.

Strategically located in Cockburn Central, the $120 million development will create a sustainable surf park community welcoming up to one million visitors per year.

Opening in early 2027, the venue will offer perfect waves for all abilities, high-performance training facilities, and major sporting and cultural events – along with quality leisure, hospitality and retail amenities.

As the exclusive recovery partner for the Perth Surf Park, RCVRI will establish a flagship studio that is set to become a unique wellness destination, helping more West Australians to live a healthy lifestyle and optimise for high performance.

The RCVRI studio will offer a range of recovery services that utilise the latest techniques backed by science and research, including hot and cold contrast pools, oversized traditional saunas, private contrast suites, Normatec compression therapy, and hyperbaric chamber therapy. Complementing the studio, personal suites will offer massage and other allied health treatments.

In keeping with the park’s “by the West, for the West” ethos, the studio will employ local practitioners, and utilise equipment provided by Western Australian suppliers.

Aventuur and RCVRI share a commitment to fostering authentic community, and sustainability. Together, they plan to collaborate on a variety of events at the Perth Surf Park, including group experiences, integrated surfing and wellbeing retreats, and community activations.

The expansion of offerings beyond just 'riding waves' could be seen as part of a movement to broaden the appeal of surf parks which recent research from Surf Park Central showed were predominantly used by males.

Additionally, the studio aims to use recycled materials and sustainable products through development and operations, reinforcing their dedication to environmental responsibility.

RCVRI co-founder, Steve Hoiles enthused “our partnership with Aventuur represents an exciting milestone for RCVRI as we continue to expand our recovery and wellness services across Australia, and the globe. The Perth Surf Park studio will be a truly unique destination, and we’re proud to play a role in creating a space that supports active lifestyles and high- performance recovery. By combining RCVRI’s advanced modalities with the vibrant energy of the surf community, we aim to deliver an unmatched wellness experience for all visitors, whether they ride waves or simply prioritise their health and wellbeing.”

Aventuur’s Chairman and Chief Development Officer, Andrew Ross added “Partnering with RCVRI is a compelling opportunity for Aventuur and the Perth Surf Park. Together, we’ll deliver experiences to help surfers and non-surfers alike to enhance their wellbeing, improve performance and prevent injury, while also fostering the creation of a positive and healthy community around the park.”

Perth Surf Park’s innovative precinct will also feature a fitness studio, high-performance surf academy, member lounge, Rip Curl flagship store, surf equipment hire, beach club, quality bars and restaurants, functions spaces, rooftop glamping accommodation and community amenities including a skate park, pump track, kids’ playground, and nature scaped gardens.

The surf park is also expected to host regular events, including surfing competitions, cultural and music festivals, and charity fundraisers.

The Perth Surf Park is expected to create over 300 jobs during construction, and contribute more than $250 million to the WA economy during its operating life.

With all development and environmental approvals now received, the Perth Surf Park is now shovel- ready with final project financing activities underway. Construction is expected to commence in early 2025, ahead of the park’s expected opening in early 2027.
