Following the debut of its first artificial wave attraction in the German city of Munich this year, surf pool specialists Endless Surf are heading into 2025 looking forward to the launch of more projects.
One of the world’s biggest surf projects, Munich’s O2 Surftown MUC is centred around the world’s first Endless Surf lagoon.
Opened in August, the venue features a lagoon with customisable waves using advanced pneumatic hardware and proprietary software.
Currently, Endless Surf is working in the themed entertainment space, with its second project now nearing completion at Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia as part of the Aquarabia water theme park.
November saw the announcement that three-time world surfing champion Mick Fanning has invested in the $300 million Palm Valley surf and golf resort located at Parkwood Village on the Gold Coast.
Powered by Endless Surf’s wave technology, the surf lagoon at the Palm Valley Gold Coast Resort is set to open in mid-2027. It will not only be leisure destination but is being positioned as a premier training venue for elite surfers preparing for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
In Mexico, Endless Surf is powering the upcoming Cabo Real Surf Club in Los Cabos. Combining surf and luxury living, the development is the first in North America to feature a private Endless Surf wave basin. Construction on the site is already underway, with more than US$50 million in homesite sales already confirmed. The site is expected to open in 2026.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, Endless Surf has partnered with Brasil Surfe Clube (BSC) for BSC Costa Verde and BSC at Região dos Lagos - two projects set to feature the largest wave pools in the Southern Hemisphere. Set to open in 2026, both clubs, says Endless Surf, will “redefine surf culture in Brazil” through the integration of surfing, wellness, and the arts into vibrant community spaces.
In a statement, Endless Surf advised “these recent announcements highlight the versatility of surf parks as anchor attractions across various business models.”
Heading into 2025, Endless Surf is poised to expand its global footprint further, with the company working on more than a dozen additional projects, with the company’s statement adding “from Palm Valley’s integration of sport and lifestyle to Cabo Real’s real-estate-driven approach and Brazil’s membership-based community hubs, each venue capitalises on surfing’s universal appeal and adaptability to help anchor its specific masterplan.
“These examples demonstrate how the surf park market is booming and how developers can capitalise on this global trend to support nearly any venue type.”
