Member data will see Sport NSW Market Segmentation Platform change planning and investment
February 1, 2019

Sport NSW, alongside data specialists ActiveXchange, has launched the Sport NSW Market Segmentation Platform - known as SportsEye, a ground-breaking sector collaboration that is set to change the sport planning and investment landscape.

Powered by over 450,000 annual member data records and backed by a united network of nine NSW sporting, the online public platform has been developed to support both delivery and commissioning organisations to match the resident profile of suburbs (and council areas) with proven demand for specific programs and sports, acting as a match making toolkit to grow active communities.

Developers ActiveXchange are making use of the member data collected by state (and national) sport bodies but which to date has not been used to its full potential with the value of this data not having been realised.

With the data having sat in siloed systems, market intelligence hasn’t been readily available to help internal and external stakeholders make more informed decisions.

Now, with the skillset of a data science and business intelligence team, the platform will help different partners to collaborate more effectively, underpinning decisions with independent and up to date intelligence.

For the first time demand projections have been built from hundreds of thousands of actual current member records.

A sector collaboration that any administration or delivery organisation can join, other sport and program partners are set to joint over the coming months.
