MyVenue POS technology records 240,000 transactions at Adelaide Oval during Ashes Cricket Test
MyVenue’s point of sale (POS ) solution technology recorded an impressive 240,000 credit card transactions at Adelaide Oval during the recent Ashes Cricket Test Match where the technology was deployed across the 53,000-seat stadium's concession, premium, restaurant, bars, and café POS terminals.
Adam Vonthethoff, Chief Operating Officer, Adelaide Oval SMA noted “Adelaide Oval has worked with MyVenue over a number of years to help develop a next generation, hosted point-of-sale solution that delivers great benefits for our fans as well as our event and everyday hospitality operations.
“The last two years have been tough for many venues and stadiums, but the MyVenue team continued to work tirelessly with us through a low-risk transition from our legacy NCR system to the new MyVenue point of sale solution.
“The Vodafone Men’s Ashes Test Cricket Match was a great workout for our new system. With around 240,000 credit card transactions and an average approval time of three seconds, we are extremely happy with the transition and excited by the MyVenue partnership.”
The deployment includes all POS, remote monitoring including POS connectivity status, real-time performance reports and off-line redundancies. Apart from the stadium’s concessions, portables, premium areas, and function rooms, the system is also used in the attached café, luxury hotel and restaurant.
MyVenue Chief Executive, Tim Stollznow explained “our philosophy is every team member, from the help desk to engineering, benefits from spending regular time on-site at events.
“With tens of thousands of fans and the world’s sporting media converging on Adelaide Oval, the Ashes Cricket Match was a fantastic opportunity for our developers and tech team to experience the importance of POS performance and back-office functionality. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Adelaide Oval throughout 2022, including Big Bash cricket, Australian Football League, and the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup.”
With another internationally renowned Tier 1 stadium selecting MyVenue as their POS partner, the stadium and arena specialists continue to prove they’re changing the game.
