New Sport Design Australia awards look to recognise ‘sports creators’
The team behind the Sport Design Australia consultancy and podcast have announced an award program for sports creators and creative teams.
To be presented in November, the Sport Design Australia Awards will recognise excellence in 16 categories.
Introducing the inaugural program, Sport Design Australia (SDA) advise “have you ever looked at awards categories and felt like none of them were quite right for you?
“Well, look no further.
“(The) Sport Design Australia Awards … will celebrate and honour those who have contributed to the industry with incredible, eye-watering, jaw-dropping creative within the last 12 months.”
Entries can be submitted as an individual or part of a creative team, with a range of categories tailored for designers, creators and content specialists.
The Awards categories are:

• Best Graphic Series - Non-Game Day

• Best Visual Game Day Experience

• Best use of Animation
• Best use of Illustration
• Best use of Motion Graphics
• Best use of Typography
MVP
• Emerging Talent in Design
• Innovation in Sports Design
• Best Independent Sports Freelancer
• Sports Design Team of the Year
SDA add “we want to see the best of the best in the sports industry, and showcase it to the world. We see out of this world creativity every day, but because of how quickly sport moves on, it often doesn't get recognised. Now is the time for recognition with the Sport Design Australian annual awards.
“Whether you're an individual perfecting their craft, or you're part of a creative team, we've got an award category for you.”
Entries are open until 18th October with winners to be announced during the week commencing 11th November 2024.
