SportsTech Australia to link clubs and grassroots sports suppliers
January 16, 2014

Having presented the Sports Club Management Expo in 2012 and 2013, SportsTech Australia is set to launch a new initiative for all grassroots sports suppliers.

The initiative is an online platform for sports suppliers to list their services and products, offer discounts, promote reviews of their business from sporting clubs, and connect to clubs in the digital era.

SportsTech Australia founder Alex Mednis explains "the biggest problem for suppliers is that club administrators change every year.

"Suppliers build up connections, and have to re-establish them 12 months later.

"With our new platform, clubs can locate businesses in their area or state - including businesses that service nationally - and get a discount for connecting with the business online, and maintain those relationships through changes in committees.

"Suppliers can maintain a business listing and access best-in-class analytics for profile views, search appearances and more. They can see 'clickthrus', conversion rates, search terms, engagement - everything to help them to connect better with sporting clubs."

The launch of the platform will coincide with a national competition going out to over 25,000 sporting clubs, giving them the chance to win equipment and products from a range of businesses already signed up to the platform.

In 2012 and 2013, the Sydney and Melbourne Sports Club Management Expo - a combined trade show for sports suppliers and workshop series for clubs - attracted over 700 sporting clubs and 60 sports suppliers - from technology companies to medal and trophy manufacturers.

The Expo also receives attention from a number of government and community groups, and benefits from partnerships with over 20 different state-level sporting bodies.

Interested suppliers who would like to list on the platform and benefit from the exposure of the initial promotion should contact Alex Mednis on 0425 251 204 before the end of January.
