Australian Sports Foundation and revolutioniseSPORT partner to expand fundraising opportunities

Australian Sports Foundation and revolutioniseSPORT partner to expand fundraising opportunities
October 17, 2024

Australia’s non-profit sports fundraising organisation, the Australian Sports Foundation, (ASF) has announced a new partnership with leading online management platform revolutioniseSPORT (revSPORT) to expand fundraising opportunities and streamline operations for grassroots organisations.

The partnership allows clubs using revSPORT to seamlessly accept tax-deductible donations from members during the registration process, through to the release of the membership donation add-on.

The ASF and revSPORT membership donation add-on delivers substantial value for sports clubs by introducing new revenue opportunities through tax-deductible donations, directly within the registration process. This creates a seamless pathway for clubs to secure essential funds, helping cover costs like equipment and facilities.

Last year an ASF report found that a combination of rising costs and falling revenue were pushing almost one in five community sporting clubs to the brink of collapse.

ASF Chief Partnerships Officer, Ryan Holloway, said the partnership with revSPORT offers sports clubs and organisations vital extra opportunities to grow and sustain their funding to permit a greater focus on athletes and important community initiatives.

Holloway noted “Sports clubs and organisations will have new opportunities to fundraise for essential needs, from upgrading facilities and purchasing equipment to supporting athlete development and launching community programs.

“These resources are vital for clubs to grow and thrive, and through this partnership and the simplification of fundraising with revSPORT, we’re here to help them unlock their potential.’’

By automating donation management, the membership donation add-on also reduces administrative tasks, allowing volunteers to focus on enhancing the sporting experience.

From December, ASF’s fundraising platform will integrate directly with revolutioniseSPORT’s whole-of-sport system where its members manage operational data such as schedules, payments and registrations through one user-friendly interface.

Through an API (Application Planning Interfaces) integration, the ASF and revolutioniseSPORT will combine to streamline the fundraising process and facilitate a much-needed financial boost in challenging economic times.

The enhanced tools and resources will facilitate year-round fundraising, improve communication and engagement, and use technology to ease the administrative burden on community clubs and associations.

ASF Chief Executive Sue Hunt AM advised “as part of our commitment to supporting grassroots sports, the Australian Sports Foundation is excited to announce this collaboration with revSPORT, one that will provide the tools to grow and sustain funding at a critical time for our sports industry.

“Our investment in technology is a cornerstone of our mission to support Australian sport, and this partnership with revSPORT is a perfect example of how we’re expanding our capabilities for the benefit of our sporting community. By harnessing innovative digital solutions, we can offer streamlined, accessible fundraising opportunities that empower sports organisations, especially at the grassroots level.

“These advancements are making it easier for clubs and teams across the country to secure the funding they need, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: enhancing the participant experience, supporting volunteers, and fostering a thriving sports culture.

“Together with revSPORT, we’re committed to making a lasting impact on Australian sport, creating a sustainable future for all levels of participation.”

revSPORT’s Chief Operations Officer, Nic Watkins, urged the 18,000 local clubs and 270 governing bodies already using the platform to capitalise on the benefits of the ASF partnership.

Watkins shared “Australian sports clubs have been in desperate need of a revolutionary solution to funding and fundraising. Coming from club-land ourselves, we understand this challenge all too well – they are under-resourced and underfunded. That is why we built revSPORT, to simplify sport and maximise the impact of grassroots administrators.

“Our exclusive partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation has the power to change the face of our industry. By providing an innovative solution centred on an exceptional user experience, sporting clubs using revSPORT will be able to leverage the capabilities of our two organisations, and unlock previously untapped revenue opportunities.

“We are ecstatic to partner with the Australian Sports Foundation to make the lives of our administrators easier and see clubs continuing to thrive.”

revSPORT clubs are encouraged to visit asf.org.au/revsport and register to receive communications about this exclusive launch, to ensure they can be the first to enable the member registration donation add-on, later this year.
