KOJO secures fan experience production partnership contract for Stadiums Queensland venues
Integrated technology content provider KOJO has announced that it has won a competitive tender process to deliver fan-first experiences at Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba in Brisbane and Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.
The multi-year agreement sees the global sports presentation and in-stadium activations specialist expand its portfolio to six sporting venues across the country with the Stadiums Queensland partnership adding to existing contracts at Blundstone Arena in Tasmania, Perth’s Optus Stadium and the Adelaide Oval.
Founded in Adelaide, KOJO established an office in Brisbane in 2019 and has a local team specialising in sports marketing, live sports events, brand activations and post-production.
The latest contract will expedite the expansion of its Queensland presence by adding to the team in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and North Queensland and preparing it to support activations for the Brisbane 2032 Games to support the state’s vision of “great venues - amazing experiences.”
Announcing the contact win, KOJO Chief Executive, Stephen Lord stated “we are thrilled to be working with Stadiums Queensland at these iconic venues, which are sought after destinations for live sport.
“We are excited to bring our integrated approach combining strategy, creative, production and technology to the stadiums and their key hirers.
“Our proven FanX strategic approach and deep experience as in-stadium specialists will allow us to create unique world-first fan first experiences to deliver on Stadiums Queensland’s vision of ‘amazing experiences’.”
KOJO’s partnership with Stadiums Queensland will see the production team draw on its fan-first sports experience to engage fans at national and global sporting events and state-based competitions.
KOJO will work for home teams, including NRL’s Cowboys, Broncos and Dolphins, the NRL Magic Round and State of Origin, A-League’s Brisbane Roar, Super Rugby’s Queensland Reds, AFL’s Brisbane Lions, and Cricket’s Brisbane Heat and Queensland Cricket teams.
The new contact adds to KOJO’s existing roster of sports work, including Cricket Australia as national sports presentation partner, BBL as national content partner, six AFL sides - West Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne and GWS, AFL Gather Round in Adelaide, New Zealand Rugby All Blacks, Black Ferns and Māori All Blacks, four Super Rugby teams - Western Force, Hurricanes, Chiefs and Moana Pasifika and the NZ Warriors in the NRL.
Recently, KOJO has been involved in major tournaments including FIFA Women’s World Cup Play Off Tournament in New Zealand, Rugby World Cup 2021 in New Zealand (played in 2022), ICC T20 Men’s World Cup (played in 2022) and the 2020 ICC T20 Women’s World Cup.
In 2022, KOJO created Australia’s first ever stadium mixed reality experience for the West Coast Eagles, and delivered an integrated stadium and broadcast Mixed Reality experience for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
